End of Season Survey Results

See below for the end of season survey results from Super Ed Garratt:

CCC Survey Results

The results of the first Cambourne Cricket Club members’ survey provide positive reading for the Club.

In total 22 members responded, with an even distribution of responses across the 3 senior teams. The following report gives the headlines against the questions:

·         71% of members said they either really enjoyed or loved their season of cricket. Only 4% said they didn’t enjoy it

·         68% of members said the organisation of the side they played for was either good or excellent

·         78% of members said the captaincy of the side they played for was either good or excellent

·         72% of members said the team spirit of the side they played for was either good or excellent

·         The majority of members rated the organisation and communication of the club as ‘good’, although one in 10 rated it as poor

·         Members rated the handling of welfare issues as either good or excellent

67% of members believe that committee members are either good or excellent ambassadors for the club – Whilst 50% of members believe that Cambourne is successfully developing young cricketers into senior players, 18% believe that we are failing to do so

·         Selection remains a concern as although 68% of members think it is run ‘ok’, only 9% believe that it is run fairly

·         Members were divided over the question of whether talented non-members should be given priority over members – the majority (55%) argued ‘sometimes’

·         The majority of members believe that the first team, then second team etc should ‘always’ take priority in selection (50%)

·         The majority of members believe the club respects the diversity of its members (76% ‘good’ or ‘excellent’)

·         The majority of members rated the membership fee as ‘good’ value for money (41%)

In the survey there were text boxes for comments. The big themes that emerged were:

·         Concerns that the club has become fragmented between the 3 teams and there are some cliques

·         Members are tired of infighting over selection and want to see a consistent and fair process

although 22% rated them as only ‘fair’ and 9% as poor  Members are keen to see net sessions better organised and for everyone to get a fair go

·         Members would like the club to invest in sight screens

·         One member thought that Chris Cundell should be paid to play

The survey has given some rich feedback for the Committee to consider. As a priority, the Committee will address the issues around selection, net sessions and club unity.
